I am not sure. I did some code staring and things look as they should
be. So frankly, I did not instantly understand why --logger-fd does not
work. This would require to step through the process or do some printf
debugging. It might be related to estream which has some extra code
(and es_stderr) for the standard file descriptors. See libgpg-error.
